Design Guidelines for Slide
-
10-Point Rule: A good rule of thumb is that if you can’t read the slide from 10 feet away, the font size is too small. Keep the font size to an absolute minimum of 20-24pt.
-
Text Limit: Use no more than 50 words in total on the entire slide (excluding the title). Use keywords, not sentences.
-
Visual Priority: The slide should be 70% visual (diagrams, graphs, images) and 30% text.
-
Color Use: Use high-contrast colors (dark text on light background or vice-versa) and keep the color palette limited to 3 main colors.
-
Diagrams: If a diagram is used, it must be instantly understandable. Avoid complex flow charts or block diagrams that require deep reading.
